Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service for Gift Card Exchange

Welcome to https://www.giftcardexchange.com.au (the “Website”). By accessing or using our platform to purchase, redeem, or exchange gift cards, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Terms of Service (ToS). If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.
1. Eligibility and Account Security
You may only use our services if you are at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration details;
- Use only your real identity — fraudulent or anonymous accounts are strictly prohibited;
- Secure your account using a strong password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) via SMS, email, or authenticator app;
- Avoid accessing the platform through VPNs, proxy networks, TOR, or obfuscation tools, which may trigger automatic security restrictions;
- Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that exhibit:
- Unusual browser or device behavior;
- Repeated IP changes or masking;
- Use of temporary or throwaway email addresses;
- Activity resembling automation, scraping, or fraudulent redemption patterns.
2. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to misuse the platform, including (but not limited to):
- Fraudulent activity, including the resale or exchange of stolen, compromised, or unauthorised gift cards;
- Money laundering, structuring, or attempts to conceal the origin of funds;
- Exploiting promotional offers, loopholes, or referral systems in bad faith;
- Harassment or abuse of customer support agents;
- Using automation, bots, or scripts to purchase, redeem, or scrape content from the website;
- Violating any laws or third-party rights, including retailer terms for specific gift cards.
3. Verification & Identity Checks
To ensure the integrity of our marketplace, we may require:
- Verification of your identity through government-issued ID;
- A short video or selfie verification (in cases of fraud risk);
- Proof of gift card ownership or purchase when uploading for resale.
Failure to comply with identity requests may result in account suspension and/or permanent bans.
4. Account Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at our sole discretion if:
- Your activity poses a risk to other users, our business, or retail partners;
- You are suspected of engaging in high-risk behavior or breach of this AUP;
- You attempt to circumvent bans, verifications, or geofencing restrictions.
Decisions related to bans are final. For account reinstatement, users must complete identity verification by contacting our Support Team on (03) 8397 7277, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm AEST.
5. Gift Card Policies
- All sales are final once a gift card is delivered or redeemed;
- We do not guarantee compatibility with third-party platforms or usage outside Australia unless explicitly stated;
- Any issues with retailer acceptance or balance disputes must be raised within 72 hours of delivery;
- Abusing refund systems (e.g., requesting refunds after redemption) will lead to blacklisting.
6. Legal Compliance
You must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws. Our platform may not be used in countries or jurisdictions under trade sanctions or embargoes.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify this AUP/ToS at any time. Continued use after changes implies your acceptance. You are encouraged to review this page periodically.
